I'm not an expert and have only been using C4D for almost under a year, but I can tell you that you should learn Houdini. so do you want to pay more for an integrated into C4D solution that's easy to use? or spend less on a more powerful tool but is difficult to learn? 🤷♂️ XP is much easier, and works pretty much like a mograph tool. It can be a slog compared to learning one of the others, like XP. and Houdini apprentice is totally free.īut it becomes a question of if you have the time to put into learning houdini. less than half the price of XP on its own. but the learning curve is way steeper than XP or Turbulence. its about 1000 times more powerful than any of those plugins.
but it does have that capability whereas the others are more specialized.īut honestly, if you do one - do Houdini. XP doesnt do fluids better than Realflow and doesnt do Gaseous better than TFD. TFD does gaseous really well, realflow does fluids really well. Realflow's plugin (as far as I know) doesnt have as much love in it as the previous two, and it only really does Fluids.Īnd then Houdini is like a whole other thing.Įach of those things does what it does really well. Turbulence is also pretty deeply integrated and does only Gaseous. XP is deeply integrated and does Particles primarily and then does Fluid and Gaseous. I wouldnt say you could compare these in this way really.
